  Formerly the location of the Plumville Baptist Church (SBC), in 1988, the congregation merged with the Davis Prairie Baptist Church (SBC) due to the expansion of the State Route 13 into a four lane divided highway. As a result of the highway expansion, the Davis Prairie Baptist Church needed to relocate due to the State Of Illinois purchasing their facility. As a result, the two congregations became one, taking on the name of the Davis Prairie Baptist Church. The Davis Prairie Baptist Church owes its existence to the original Mt. Zion Church that was founded in 1839, whereas, the Plumville Baptist Church began during the early 1920's. No matter the date, those that have worshiped together during the course of existence have served for the same purposes: To share the Salvation of Jesus Christ to the World. The church is in fellowship with the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC).
